Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a MammographyTechnologist to perform a variety of technical activities associated withthe performance of screening and diagnostic mammography procedures.

EssentialDuties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

  • Explains mammography procedure to all patients; answers any patient questions or concerns

  • Positions patients, using immobilization when necessary. Calculate exposure factors, assist physicians.

  • Perform the quality control functions related to mammography.

  • Evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality obtaining additional images as needed.

  • Prepare and set up medical supplies using aseptic techniques if appropriate. Explain procedures to patients.

  • Develop mammography film. Match with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation.

  • Charge mammography procedures and supplies to the patient's medical record.

  • Assist in maintenance and compilation of statistical data

  • Adheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

    MinimumRequirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Completion of a 24-month AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology Program.

  • Current State License or Certificate, if required by state regulations or contract specifications.

  • One (1) year of experience as a Mammography required.

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to accurately communicate with patients

  • Current BLS card.

  • Successful completion of testing process.

  • Current physical exam, if required by state regulations or contract specifications.

  • Current TB test or chest x-ray.
