Description

The Assistant Mooring Master forms part of the terminal offshore team. Working closely alongside the Mooring Master to plan, control, and execute Offshore Operations for assigned import tankers. Whilst onboard, they continually monitor the position of the vessel and liaise with the shipboard management team to ensure that operations are completed in a safe and efficient manner, verifying ongoing compliance will all terminal, safety, and environmental requirements.

This role operators a 2 weeks on 2 weeks off rota pattern.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • The mooring and unmooring of tankers at the terminal Single Point Mooring.

  • Supervising ships crews during the connection & disconnection of terminal cargo hoses to the tanker.

  • Whilst onboard the tanker, monitor the safe discharge of crude oil ashore, whilst the vessel remains at the terminal.

  • Assist with the planning, supervision, and execution of maintenance operations for the Offshore Terminal.

  • Communicate with refinery staff, ship agents, oil traders, marine contractors and other stakeholders to plan and execute a busy and dynamic shipping and maintenance schedule.

  • Assist with the completion of statutory, company records and legal documentation relating to cargo, berthing, discharge, and un-berthing operations.

  • Assist with the development, implementation and enforcement of new procedures and policies.

  • Drive the terminals positive safety and environmental culture to ensure that all offshore operations are conducted effectively and share best practices and feedback with other internal and external forums.

  • Assist in any Emergency response to safety or environmental incidents

  • Liaise with cargo inspectors whilst onboard Import tankers

  • Assist with Quality Assurance of Offshore Operations.

Position Requirements

  • A minimum OOW international certificate of competency STCW 2010 or STCW95 (current or expired)

  • Experience of Oil tanker or Monobuoy Operations

  • Ability to execute ship berthing/unberthing operations under direct supervision

  • Ability to communicate effectively with ships management and crew

  • Valid driving licence.

  • Physically fit and able to work for long periods in challenging offshore conditions.

  • Thrive on working within a proactive team.
