Senior Safety Advisor - Underground, Kennecott Utah Copper LLC, South Jordan, UT: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the mine health and safety management system for operational readiness and operations, ensuring all underground activities meet a risk profile acceptable to RTK, including the facilitation of HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) risk assessments. Assist in reviewing safety risks underground, proactively recommending and implementing solutions to improve safety standards across the workforce. Assist in ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, company policies, standards, and safe working procedures. Plan and facilitate annual refresher training. Assist in the development of Safe Working Procedures required for the safe execution of mining activities underground. Coach line leaders (including contractors) on all safety related matters. Work with line leaders to identify hazards and find practical and innovative solutions to safety issues. Coordinate safety audits on a regular basis, addressing all hazards appropriately and facilitating external audits as required. Assist and develop safety monitoring systems to drive compliance with existing regulations and standards and implement corrective actions to support a zero-harm safety culture for operations. Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety or related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience in health and safety in the context of mining operations. Of the required experience, must have at least 5 years of experience in each of the following: * Underground mining operation; * Managing safety improvement programs in a large company environment, health and safety management systems focusing on Critical Risk Management and Fatality Prevention systems; and * Assessing, evaluating and implementing components of the safety management system to ensure alignment and on-going improvement to company and regulatory requirements. Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in designing and implementing HSE training and educational materials to educate the workforce on mining risks and controls. Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in working with Federal regulations, including MSHA.
