Home Care Companion Loomis Communities Home Care has immediate openings for Part Time and Per Diem shifts to float between all locations for Home Care Companions. Must have some weekend and holiday availability! Join the Loomis team... Seeking talented home care assistants (CNA or HHA current certifications required) and home care companions. SUMMARY: Takes a genuine interest in the resident by listening to their needs, ensuring that their environment is clean and safe. Provides supportive services on and off The Loomis Communities\' campuses to meet the needs, specific interests and support the uniqueness and autonomy of each individual resident. This person will not provide hands-on care for the client (such as feeding and dressing) but will provide companionship, provide respite for the main caregiver, offer encouragement and perform light housekeeping tasks. Provides a companionship role and the opportunity to establish meaningful relationships with residents and promote their continued pursuits of the dimensions of wellness. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs job functions in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of The Loomis Communities. Adheres to The Loomis Communities Compliance and Ethics Program. Demonstrates an awareness of, a respect for and attention to the diversity of the people with whom they interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and other stakeholders) that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services. Interacts with residents by providing quality companion services, duties may include: social and intellectual engagement, fitness and exercise, and outings (museums, theater, restaurants etc.). Drives clients to planned outings or events. Handles basic housekeeping, such as: dusting, sweeping, mopping, organizing, laundry and pet care. Plans and prepares meals, taking dietary restrictions and preferences into consideration. Monitors, records and reports any developments or concerns to appropriate parties, such as supervisors, health services, or family members. Follows the service plan. Adheres to standard precautions and safety regulations. QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent Undergraduate or Graduate student Required Experience: 2-3 years of experience operating a passenger motor vehicle, CPR Certification Preferred Experience: First Aid Licenses(Required/Preferred) Massachusetts Drivers License Skills/Competencies: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to communicate and engage in stimulating discussions. Ability to demonstrate strong customer service/hospitality skills. Ability to demonstrate strong problem solving and creativity skills. Ability to demonstrate compassion and dedication to highest quality service. Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to respond to an emergency calmly. Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to relate well to all residents. Ability to deal effectively with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the public. Ability to report to work regularly and promptly. Ability to work beyond normal hours when necessary. Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
