ROTO 2nd Shift - Team Leader South Deerfield, MA, 147 N Main Street, South Deerfield, Massachusetts, United States of America Req #164 SUMMARY: The Team Leader reports to the supervisor and leads a team of associates by directing workflow through all aspects of the production process. This role trains, engages, and motivates a dynamic workforce while promoting company values. JOB DUTIES: Establishes and/or adjusts work assignments to meet production schedules, using knowledge of demand shifts, capacities of machines, equipment, and skill capabilities. Oversees all aspects of work performance to provide feedback and data to supervisor/manager in support of performance reviews. Coaches team members on an ongoing basis. Informs supervisor/manager of all concerns as they arise. Communicates and promotes continuous improvement efforts in safety, quality, efficiency, and lead time during shift meetings and interactions with staff. Addresses any related concerns. Trains and cross-trains team members to ensure competency in all departmental functions. Enforces appropriate health and safety regulations. Reports potential safety hazards to supervisor and support injury investigations as needed. Inspects materials including excessive scrap, final products, and machinery for defects and engages the appropriate area to resolve issues. Implements corrective action as needed. Maintains effective communication between all shifts within the department and the Production, Maintenance and Technical functions interfacing with the department and promoting a healthy productive work environment. May temporarily assume the role of Supervisor. May perform production tasks such as start-up, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting. Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job. Performs additional duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Four (4) years\' experience in a production role. Experience motivating and leading small group activities. Knowledgeable of all jobs performed by team members. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with all employees. Ability to learn new tasks, cross-train, rotate and work as a part of a team with strong problem-solving skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure stable operations of the assigned functional areas. Ability to drive forklifts. Forklift certification PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED. Six (6) years\' experience in a production role Experience as a team lead in a manufacturing facility Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with lean manufacturing and/or continuous improvement. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Actively supports and complies with Pelican\'s objectives, guidelines and commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement. Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels. Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager. Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime. Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice. Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
