Pelican Products Materials Specialist - 2nd Shift in South Deerfield, Massachusetts

Material Specialist - 2nd Shift This is a 2nd Shift role, the work schedule: Monday-Friday, 2pm-10:15pm Eastern Time OVERVIEW: Performs a variety of routine duties to ensure that assembly areas have all needed prints, components and supplies to safely and efficiently maintain the flow of product. Retrieves all necessary tooling and fixtures for these areas. Reviews work orders and prints to identify all required prints, components, kits, parts. WHAT YOU\'LL DO: Views all current work orders for their status and prints new orders as needed. Prints all related drawings as specified on the work order. Identifies and delivers appropriate kits to the workstations and fills point-of-use bowls as needed. Retrieves or replaces all items needed from the tool crib or dispatch center to eliminate indirect work for the assemblers. Delivers empty Kan Ban buckets to the machine shop for replenishment. Makes gaskets as needed. Transacts finished product and delivers to shipping. Notifies the dispatch center or appropriate party of any parts shortages and/or returns extra parts. Calls QA for inspection or consultation as required. Assists in moving stacked product to the assembly lines. Orders boxes as needed. Performs first piece inspections as required. Completes pre-assembly tasks as needed for upcoming and in-process work orders. Provides good communication to Team Leads and Supervisor. Reports all safety and production issues to Supervisor. Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job. Performs additional duties as assigned. WHAT YOU\'LL NEED: Qualifications include: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent specific experience. Must have the understanding and ability to follow all established safety procedures and guidelines. Must be able to operate machine controls. Must be able to follow verbal and/or written instructions. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Actively supports and complies with Pelican\'s objectives, guidelines and commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement. Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels. Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager. Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime. Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice. Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be constantly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers). While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
