MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR SUMMARY Supervises the day-to-day maintenance of a large fast paced manufacturing environment. Schedules and oversees work of electrician, technicians, and mechanics; handles repairs and preventive maintenance on molding equipment & auxiliary machinery; assists with safety guidelines and employee issues. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Hire and supervise electricians, technicians and mechanics are at their scheduled work areas on time and have a complete understanding of their job tasks. Oversees and participates in repairs on plastic molding equipment, auxiliary machinery, appliances, chiller units, dryers, and compressors. Oversees and participates in implementing preventive maintenance functions such as lubricating equipment and checking gauges, hoses, pumps, motors, and oil levels on machinery. Thorough understanding of preventative maintenance auditing tools, planning and metrics. Provide technical assistance to Maintenance Manager and department leaders. Take an active role in developing maintenance policies and standards for organization. Oversee facilities tasks and outside contractors as needed. Maintains inventory of spare parts and supplies and issuing requisitions for purchases. Coordinates departmental meetings, training and developing employees, evaluating employee performance, and other tasks as required. Conducts performance evaluations, recommends recruiting, compensation, and disciplinary action decisions, and ensures that all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures are implemented and followed. Ensures that all safety procedures and guidelines are being met in the department, including housekeeping, personal protective equipment, machine guarding and lockout/tagout procedures Actively supports Pelican\'s commitment to Quality and all quality objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvement. Remains on 24-hour call and works extended schedules to include evenings and weekends as necessary. Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follow safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job. JOB REQUIREMENTS Qualifications include: Education: High School Diploma with a certification at a trade or technical school preferred, or equivalent specific experience Minimum of 5 years experience in supervising or leading others. General knowledge of equipment including Injection Molding, general manufacturing equipment and auxiliary equipment. General knowledge of plant and machine safety. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and electrical systems. Ability to drive forklifts and possess necessary certification. Must have good math, communication, and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal and delegation skills Must be proficient with computers and Microsoft tools, Excel, word etc. Possesses a reliability and improvement mindset Ability to diagnose equipment maintenance and repair needs and apply troubleshooting procedures. Ability to set-up, plan, and operate machine tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specs. Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
