Senior Patrol Officer

Salary and Benefits Package:

Starting basic salary for a Sworn, Senior Patrol Officers with the South Boston Police Department is within the range of $47,380 - $56,650. In addition to the salary, all newly hired Sworn Patrol Officers receive a pre-tax hiring bonus of $5,000.Salary is based on qualifications and experience. Educational pay incentives are offered as an increase to yearly salary for anyone hired with an associates, bachelors, or master's degree. Those educational incentives range from $600 to $2,200 additional pay to the yearly salary depending on the type of degree and experience combination. Benefits include: Virginia Retirement System (VRS) with LEO; all uniforms and equipment are furnished both during initial training and on the job; varying options available for health insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance; paid holidays, vacation time and sick leave.

Qualifications:

Virginia Law Enforcement Officer Certification, United States citizen, ability to be courteous and professional with the public even in high stress situations, ability to carry out complex oral and written instructions, excellent moral character, no felony convictions or convictions for misdemeanors involving moral turpitude, excellent health and physical condition.
