ThePre-Sales Solutions Architect - Federalis responsible for providing technical expertise and support during the pre-sales process, understanding the client's needs and challenges, and developing comprehensive solutions that address those requirements using our services to align with Department of Defense (DoD) objectives.

  • Relationship Building:
    • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders in the DoD, including technical decision-makers and influencers.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to defense clients, understanding their long-term goals and contributing to strategic discussions.
    • Work closely with Trek10s marketing team to support the technical development of marketing content and go-to-market strategies.
  • Client Engagement:
    • Collaborate with the Trek10 business development team and delivery leaders to engage with DoD clients, understanding their mission objectives and technical requirements.
    • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify challenges and opportunities within the defense sector.
    • Identify quantitative or qualitative KPI to measure impact and outcomes.
  • Solution Development:
    • Design and present innovative, tailored solutions that address the specific needs of defense clients.
    • Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to customize and enhance existing products to meet defense requirements.
    • Support the productization of Trek10s top engagements.
    • Develop a working knowledge of licensing and IP rules for Trek10s capabilities, products, and solutions.
  • Business Development:
    • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional services based on client needs and pain points.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies for expanding our business within existing/future contracts.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Become a technical expert on Trek10s capabilities and engagement methods.
    • Stay abreast of the latest technologies, trends, and best practices within the defense sector.
    • Provide expert guidance on technology selection, integration, and implementation.
  • Proposal Support:
    • Assist the capture management team in the preparation of technical proposals, ensuring alignment with the DoD's procurement processes and specifications.
    • Work with the Trek10 business development team and delivery leaders to build Statements of Work (SOW) by breaking an engagement down into outcomes, milestones, and defining assumptions, risks, deliverables, and success criteria.
    • Produce supporting artifacts such as architecture diagrams, cost projections, and graphs to drive alignment, understanding, and deals.
    • Lead estimation processes with Trek10 staff to properly assess the functional and non-functional scope, labor effort, product placement, IP considerations, skills, technologies, and risks of an engagement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years experience working in IT (enterprise system preferred)
  • 3 years experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • 3 years experience working with the federal government (DOD preferred)
  • Proven experience in a pre-sales engineering or pre-sales solutions architecture role, preferably in the cloud technology industry
  • Familiar with IT security and various compliance programs (NIST, DOD CC SRG, FEDRAMP, etc)
  • Strong communications skills; excelling at communicating with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • 10% travel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • At least an AWS Associate level certification (Professional and Specialty certifications preferred)
  • Ability to speak confidently with Trek10 prospects and clients across some of the following areas:
    • AWS serverless architectures (Lambda, Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, etc.)
    • Infrastructure as code and DevOps best practices (CloudFormation, Terraform, Serverless Application Model, CI/CD pipelines, etc.)
    • Methodologies and best practices to replatform and re-architect modern applications (i.e., methodologies and best practices to refactor monoliths to microservices)
    • Enterprise workloads/networks (both on-premise and cloud-based), as well as migration to AWS
    • Event Driven Systems and API design (AppSync, EventBridge, etc)
    • AWS operations and use of Datadog
    • Containers and container orchestration (Docker, ECS, EKS, etc)
    • Real-time data streaming and analytics (Kinesis, Firehose, KDA, Glue, Athena)
    • User Experience and App Development
    • Hybrid and Multi-Cloud
    • Edge and Distributed Applications
  • Experience working with Salesforce
