Provide technical expertise as the structural analysis subject matter expert in the development of aircraft fuel systems, wheels, and brakes. You will lead the structural analysis effort and be responsible for the structural integrity of fuel systems, and wheel and brake assemblies. You will prioritize safety and quality in everything that you do and lead with courage and integrity. You will help shape product roadmaps and serve as a key contributor during product ideation activities. You will serve as the structural analysis subject matter expert during proposal and RFI response efforts. You will help resolve supplier, production, and customer issues. You will support value engineering and design revision activities. You will assign structural analysis tasks to other engineers and serve as a mentor to your less-experienced colleagues. You will provide reports to internal and external stakeholders. You will spearhead the advancement of mechanical design tools and processes, e.g., design automation, digital twins, digital threads, etc. You will relentlessly seek cost savings by advancing concepts such as qualification-by-similarity, qualification-by-analysis, part standardization, Agile, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the structural analysis subject matter expert for the aircraft fuel systems, and wheel and brake product lines

  • Develop mechanical designs of aircraft wheels and brakes using Siemens NX, Ansys Workbench, Dassault Systemes Abaqus FEA, etc

  • Serve as a structural analysis representative during internal and external design reviews, change board meetings, APQP activities, etc.

  • Mentor less-experienced engineers

  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers, operations, and various engineering functions to develop optimal and cost-effective design solutions

  • Spearhead the advancement of the model-based enterprise, digital twins, and digital threads

Improve existing structural analysis processes by eliminating non-value-added tasks and introducing automation through Python, parametric design, Artificial Intelligence, etc.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • At least 10 years of experience in the structural analysis of components and sub-systems for commercial and military aircraft applications

  • At least 10 years of experience with ANSYS or a similar FEA software

  • At least 10 years of experience with Siemens Teamcenter or a similar PLM software

  • At least 5 years of experience using GD&T

  • Ability to support multiple projects concurrently

  • Willingness to learn new concepts independently

  • 5 years of experience with Python, C#, or other programming languages

WE VALUE

  • Prior experience designing aircraft wheels and brakes or aircraft fuel systems

  • Composite material experience

  • Ability to work independently

  • Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning experience
