Position Overview

Coordinates all activities required to effectively lay out work, set-up appropriate machines or equipment to meet or exceed fabrication, assembly, and customer requirements per design specifications and published schedules. Efficiently utilizes resources to minimize scrap, materials, and labor.

 

Responsibilities

Includes, but is not limited to, the following

  • Capable of machining experimental configurations per specifications supplied by management in a timely fashion - Working knowledge and or training/education of vertical Milling machines (Manual & CNC), engine lathes, vertical band saw - Works with management to provide data on blueprint, bill of material, set-up sheet, or routing errors related to design issues to facilitate engineering updates - Works with minimal supervision to accurately accomplish any given task - Assists others as required Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. - 2 year certificate from a technical school or an accredited journeyman program; and a preferred 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience - Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend all forms of written and/or verbal instructions - Ability to write simple correspondence - Effectively able to present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and other employees of the organization - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, angles, and volume - Knowledge of basic concepts of geometry - Ability to apply a common sense approach and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
