Description

Jackie Meza with Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Director of Finance. As part of the management team, the director of finance must have strong leadership, management, technology, analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills. This may be the role for you if you are an experienced VP/Director of Finance looking for a challenging role at an established company. Major responsibilities

  • Adhere to local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements

  • Establish short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures

  • Compare monthly operating results against budget

  • Oversee the preparation of all financial reports

  • Review and maintain budgeting and forecasting models

  • Prepare financial outlooks and forecasts

  • Manage the hiring, training, and retention of finance staff

  • Take ownership of insurance and risk management

  • Collaborate with department managers to develop five-year business plans

  • Perform financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions

  • Direct, review, and prepare budget management and financial planning functions

  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance

  • Develop and monitor an organizational structure in order to accomplish department goals and objectives

  • Manage daily operations of the finance and accounting department

    Requirements - Prior experience with finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • MBA or CPA is preferred

  • Experience with higher level functionality in Microsoft Excel

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting

  • 10+ years of finance and accounting experience

  • Experience with multiple accounting and financial reporting systems

  • Extremely detailed and analytical
