Traffic Planning & Design Resident Engineer/Senior Inspector in Somerville, New Jersey

Ranked the overall #4 Best Civil Engineering Firm to Work for in the Nation (#1 in our size category), and residing on the list of the Engineering News Record (ENR)’s Top 500 Design Firms in the nation, TPD (Traffic Planning and Design, Inc.) is currently hiring expert Resident Engineers.

Our ideal candidate has experience on highway and bridge projects throughout NJ with agencies such as NJDOT, NJTA, SJTA, DRPA, DRJTBC, and/or experience with Local County and State agencies.

Job Requirements

  • NICET III-IV Certification or Valid Professional Engineers license in the State of New Jersey is required.

  • EIT or B.S. in Civil Engineering is a plus.

  • At least one or more of the following certifications are required: ACI, NJSAT, TCC or CCTC.

  • Experience with inspection of Federal-aid projects and relevant certifications is not required but is a plus.

  • Experience with bridge construction is a plus.

  • Experience with NJTA Capex or NJDOT Site Manager is not required but is a plus.

  • Able to work overtime, some nights, or weekends as needed.

  • Ability to drive to and from, on, or around a project site during all times of the day.

  • Strong organization and communication skills

  • Valid Driver's License
