Job Summary

The Information Technology Spend Optimization (ITSO) Procurement Consultant’s purpose is to help customers save money through proactive IT spend management, including negotiation of more significant IT maintenance renewals and new purchases, and to help customers reduce their exposure to the risks associated with licensing agreements for new software purchases.

This position will report to the ITSO Procurement Services Manager within the IT Asset Management departmentand will be based inthe Somerset, NJ Office.

Responsibilities

Include but not limited to:

  • Proven track record of managing and executing large projects from start to finish, including project management and financial/budget management

  • Managing and implementing multiple commodities, developing and maintaining grower/supplier relationships in a procurement team environment

  • Ensure that contract terms and conditions are favorable and aligned with organizational goals

  • Mitigate contractual risks and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements

  • Lead discussions with IT, Data, and Analytics suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, and conditions

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams such as operations, finance, compliance, security, and legal to ensure flawless procurement processes

  • Collaboration with business partners to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) and expectations are met

  • Educate partners, ensuring understanding of contractual requirements and establishing vendor scorecards for performance monitoring

  • Conduct business reviews to discuss performance, compliance, and improvement plans

  • Collaborate with customer procurement and/or Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) contacts, as well as SHI sales team, regarding customers renewal lists, internal/external processes, and reporting requirements

  • Reduce the risk of exposure associated with new software purchases

  • Prepare customer contract templates

  • Negotiate terms and conditions by customer negotiation playbooks

  • Escalating as needed to customer procurement and legal points of contact

  • Ensuring proper approvals are in place before contract execution

  • Deliver SHI’s tail spend management program by coordinating with customer procurement teams, IT Asset Management teams, and End User Contacts to assess customer maintenance renewals and optimize the customer's spending for higher value maintenance renewals and new purchases:

  • Customer spend analysis, including aggregating, cleansing, normalizing, and categorizing by customer categories

  • Developing and executing cost-saving strategies and preparing sourcing recommendations for review and approval, including competitive bid activities.

  • Executing sourcing strategies, including supplier reduction and pricing negotiation

  • Maintain customer reports related to their spending and cost reductions

  • Tracking upcoming existing customer renewals, projected renewals, and forecasted cost savings/avoidance

  • Maintaining individual, customer-specific, cost savings/avoidance trackers as well as team-wide, customer-specific, cost savings reports

  • Proactively reach out to customers at a minimum of 90 days in advance of the renewal date to evaluate the customers’ renewal needs

  • Adhere to any customer-specific SLAs

  • Support other lines of ITSO business as needed to promote organized licensing and purchasing environments for customers

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4-7 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or a related field

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with adherence to customer SLAs

  • Software licensing experience or Inside Sales background

  • IT industry knowledge, especially software-related (both on-premises and SaaS)

  • Ability to stay up-to-date with a rapidly changing IT environment

Certifications Required

_The successful candidate will hold the following Mandatory certifications; if the certificates are not currently held, the ITSO Sourcing Analyst will be required to study and pass within a 12–18-month period of commencing the role. _

  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations

  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) Level 4 Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations

Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $70,000 - $120,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
