Position Summary:

As a key member of the operations team, this position is responsible for supporting operations to drive consistent and benchmarkable tooling performance within manufacturing. Leading a group of 3-6 direct and a small number of indirect reports, they will ensure sites are utilizing tooling best practices for distribution, production usage and tracking, and financial management. They will implement change and drive improvement projects to develop new best practices in the same areas.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • ​​Coach, mentor and supervise a team of 3 to 6 associates (engineers, associate lean leaders, supervisors) to ensure the development, deployment, and use of the Swagelok Production System for all tooling related areas.

  • ​Communicate by example and actions Swagelok vision and values.

  • ​Develop and lead team through development conversations, performance reviews, compensation and other all other required activities for direct reports. Ensure that challenging goals, consistent with organizational and departmental goals, are developed and direct reports are held accountable for execution.

  • ​Lead small number of supervisors (1 to 3) managing tooling related areas (e.g. tooling distribution and gauge calibration)

  • ​Participate in the assessment, prioritization, scoping and execution of lean activities and improvement projects for tooling.

  • ​Create large breakthrough and/or medium size improvement projects according to the appropriate methodology.

  • ​Collaborate with finance, operations, sourcing and others to ensure all processes and projects provide value to the organization, are accurately recorded and sustainable.

  • ​Ensure tooling metrics for operations are insightful, actionable and drive the correct behaviors within all sites.

  • ​Manage a focused of portfolio of tooling projects including but not limited to tool consolidation, cost reduction and new tool requirements.

  • ​Collaborate with site engineering to reduce need for new tools, reduce tooling reserve and leverage existing assets.

  • ​In collaboration with finance, monitor and track tooling metrics for organization and site.

  • ​Transition project and project value to the line of business.

  • ​Maintain and fair and consistent application of all company policies and procedures.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Required:

Education: BS degree in technical discipline or equivalent work experience.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in a technical field or operations. 2+ years of leadership experience preferred.

Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of manufacturing and tooling. Demonstrates the ability to complete major and complex projects. Advanced problem solving and significant decision-making abilities. Strong project management/product development skills. Excellent oral and written communication. Excellent computer and typical office software skills

Preferred:

Education: BS in engineering, industrial or manufacturing technology, business or operations management.
