Job Overview Ensure accurate and timely reporting of results for consolidation and planning purposes. Prepare detailed analysis of plant productivity, efficiency, and utilization from a variety of aspects. Acts as a financial consultant to the Solon site manager and staff. Assists in the preparation of and review of all capital appropriation requests related to the Solon operations and maintains the fixed asset register for Solon. Analyze general ledger accounts and reconcile to appropriate sub-ledgers. Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly forecasts, budgets, and other misc reporting. Maintain appropriate understanding of the union contract to administer properly. Develop and support ad hoc analysis in a variety of areas such as: a. Planned and actual results b. Costing activities c. Product costs d. Cost improvements e. Forecasting and planning f. Purchase price variance review Key Job Responsibilities Prepare weekly, quarterly and annual profit plans through the analysis of such factors as sales and labor projections, operating costs and occurrences concerning any phase of the operations. Prepare capital requests for management approval. Provide input to justification of investment process as required. Perform the monthly closing activities for plant, which includes but not limited to preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations. Ensure that all corporate reporting requirements are met on a timely and accurate basis. Ensure financial controls are in place and being followed in the plant. Prepare detailed productivity and historical trend reports. Support the daily / weekly costing of parts as needed. Maintain the fixed asset register at Solon through the capitalization, periodic inventory, and disposal of assets in the operating system. Participate in the preparation and review of Appropriation requests at Solon. Manage and participate in special analysis, projects and corporate initiatives as assigned. Explore, develop and recommend cost improvement ideas which will benefit the company. Work on ad hoc projects and analysis Qualifications/Requirements This position requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent, plus a minimum of five years experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in standard cost accounting, general accounting processes and reporting. Strong knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Windows Products. Must be a highly motivated self-starter and adapt to certain difficult situations. CPA, CMA and/or CFM certification is preferred but not required.
