Amazon Area Manager-Fulfillment Centre, Operations in Sohna, India

Description

Amazon is seeking Area Managers for our Fulfillment Centers (FCs). Amazon is one of the most recognizable brand names in the world and we distribute millions of products each year to our loyal customers.

Area managers are expected to focus on 4 key areas - safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity of your department.

Area Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives for one functional area of our Fulfillment Center (Inbound or Outbound). Additional responsibilities include managing and leading a team of Process Assistants, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and building leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.

They drive creation of staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Change/Six Sigma initiatives to enable their Functional Area and ultimately the FC to meet and exceed Business Plan.

They sets / clarify requirements and expectations for Process Assistants, measures performance, provides feedback, and holds Process Assistants accountable for their performance and the performance of their functions.

They works closely with support staff (HR Manager, Financial Manager, Facilities Manager, S&LP Manager, and Other Ops. Managers, IT Manager) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in his/her area, and provide needed support and resources for other staff initiatives.

Key job responsibilities

1) Run operations in a safe and efficient manner to meet the metrics of quality and cost.

2) Plan shifts and schedules to ensure that all process paths are adequately staffed.

3) Work with stakeholders to resolve issues with respect to daily operations.

4) Work on process improvements based on data analysis to ensure that quality standards are met while maintaining a high bar on safety and throughput.

5) Plan for long term, sale events as well as for short term contingencies.

6) Identify process gaps and work with various team to plug these gaps through mechanisms

7) Lead day/night shift operations (based on roster) as the site operations POC

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, transportation logistics
