Job Description

Are you a problem solver who loves challenges and enjoys creativity? Our Quality Analytics & Reporting (QAR) team within Quality Risk Management have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Data Analytics Specialist . In this role, you will support delivery of insights to multiple businesses. You will create complex reports and dashboards, and deliver high-quality analytics to enhance the quality of our clinical trials.

A strong candidate for this role will be analytical and process oriented. You will also have a confirmed history of working efficiently and transparently across functional teams. You will provide support for incoming data requests, gather user requirements, and design the functional specifications for analytical reports, dashboards, or analysis. This position will develop reports and dashboards from multiple data sources using various software tools and reporting tools to identify and resolve data integrity issues. The Quality Data Analytics Specialist will improve data quality by partnering with process owners to ensure data entry conventions are followed.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provides support for incoming data requests, gathers user requirements and designs the functional specifications for analytical reports, dashboards or analysis.

  • Develops reports and dashboards from multiple data sources using various software tools and reporting tools to identify and resolve data issues.

  • Assists users with data extrapolation from multiple sources; generates summary data.

  • Develops, codes and tests queries and reports against various databases based on user-specified criteria to fulfill user requirements.

  • Develops the scope and design of reports by working closely with the requestors.

  • Applies comprehensive business knowledge and thorough understanding of database structure and capabilities to filter and guide business user requests.

  • Develops guides and conventions to ensure data is entered into key PPD systems, databases and/or tools appropriately to ensure consistent and accurate reporting.

  • Delivers and/or supports training to project teams and users on reporting systems and functionality, specifically using pre-defined reports and tools.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of relational database concepts

  • Demonstrated proficiency in software used in business intelligence (Excel, PowerBI, Spotfire, Tableau)

  • Familiarity with data manipulation or presentation tools such as SQL, report writing packages, or MS Access

  • Demonstrated proficiency in office productivity applications (such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Excel)

  • Able to organize, analyze and interpret data trends

  • Ability to effectively manage projects, budgets and timelines

  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and adapt to changing priorities

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize with strong attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
