Job Description

KDR NIGHT SUPERVISOR (BAKER RELIEF)

  • This is a remote catering camp position which typically runs 28 days on and 14 days off.

  • This candidate must be able to bake at very large volumes and at a high standard from scratch. 12 variety of baked goods, 2 desserts, breads, rolls, and other baking needs for 550 people - breakfast lunch and dinner, with the help of an assistant.

  • This is a very high paced and high intensity position.

  • Daily meetings with the Chef on matters of staffing, budget, camp concerns, and other current events.

  • Liaise with Night Administration Management for matters of staffing, HACCP, KDR cleanliness, service management, safety policy, and camp concerns.

  • KDR Night Supervisor is responsible for ensuring night personnel are following all safety policies including but not limited to wearing PPE, JHA training, FLRA standards.

  • Ensuring all HACCP policies are being adhered to and signing off on all logs that require it daily.

  • Ensuring all labelling is correct and legible, e.g., all allergy and food restrictions are present on the labels, no spelling mistakes, label requests are put in with all required information.

  • Making sure all staff are fit for duty and liaising with Night Manager to conduct wellness checks.

  • Helping to conduct thorough first response incident investigation reporting.

  • Conducting daily toolbox and safety meetings.

  • Ensuring breakfast service and bakery are running at client contractual minimums, e.g., sandwich variety, enough baked goods variety for 24 hrs., dining room cleanliness, etc. All kitchen supervisors should be a constant presence in the dining room during service to ensure the service is running smooth in all aspects.

  • Nightly walk arounds, especially before service begins to make sure nothing is being missed.

  • KDR Night Supervisor should always be able to help where needed, making sure that they are well versed in every role.

  • Delegating daily deep cleans and ensuring that every area of the KDR is kept very clean at all times.

  • Making sure that end of shift clean up is thorough and duties are not being missed or left for the day shift staff … unless an alternate agreement has been made with the Chef.

  • Addressing guests concerns.

  • Completing daily FTQ360 inspections.

Qualifications

  • Must be reliable to supervise a staff of up to 10 people every night, over night.

  • Must be very safety oriented.

  • Must have a valid food safe certificate

  • Red Seal certification is preferred.

  • Must have experience supervising staff for at least 2 years.

  • Must have experience baking at high volume for at least a year.

  • Remote facility experience an asset.
