  • The site is refreshed daily to remove out-of-date content.
  • The newest jobs are listed first, so use the search features to match your interests. Your role and responsibilities

Develop your career with DWR and be part of something special!

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic RVN to join our vibrant Night Team working as a Lead Nurse. Working in our busy, purpose-built clinic that is fully equipped, you will spend the majority of your shift, hands on with the patients in wards, whilst also leading and overseeing the rest of the night nursing team in a supervisor capacity.

There is also the need to undertake a proportion of line management duties, shared between the rest of the night nursing leadership team (one Team Leader, overseeing 3 Leads), including PDRs, absence review meetings, recruitment, rota administration and performance management.

As a Lead RVN on our Night Team, along with developing your leadership and management skills you will have the opportunity to progress your nursing skills, working in all our wards, including ICU, nursing canine and feline patients across all disciplines. You will also be involved with the care and triage of emergencies admitted out of hours. Night Nurses are normally allocated to a ward for the duration of their set of shifts which will allow you to get to know your patients and recognise changes in their condition.

You will work alongside a team of Nurses, Nursing Assistants and Interns with a Specialist from each department on call.

No two nights are the same! This makes working nights interesting and challenging with generous time off, giving a good work life balance.

We would be looking for a full-time associate to join our team, working 12-hour shifts from 6.30pm to 6.30am on a 4 on 5 off pattern, although occasional hours outside of these times might be required to attend leadership meetings etc.

You will have excellent all-round nursing skills, with a passion and drive for delivering outstanding patient care. You will be a positive team player, with strong communication skills who enjoys working in a supportive working environment whilst also being able to use your initiative, remain calm under pressure and challenge the status quo. Referral nursing experience is not essential as full training will be provided but it would be desirable to have some leadership experience or relevant transferable skills.
