Summary This National Guard Title 5 Excepted Service position is for an INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST, Position Description Number NGT5840000 and is part of the 114 FW in Sioux Falls, SD. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: - The public Responsibilities As an INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST, GS-0080-11, you will: This position is located in an intelligence unit. The primary purpose of the position is to serve as Chief, Special Security Office. Administers the Special Security Office (SSO) and all SCI-associated security programs and measures. Provides detailed research and analysis on physical, computer, and personnel security. This position requires a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Specialized Experience: 1 year equivalent to the next lower grade. Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Skill in initiating and implementing policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information (SCI) programs and to protect SCI resources. Knowledge of a variety of different security program interrelationships, requirements, regulations and guidance in order to apply this knowledge to protect SCI facilities and materials from espionage, sabotage, and destruction. Skill in researching, interpreting, analyzing and applying Presidential Executive Orders, Director Central Intelligence Directives (DCIDs), Defense Intelligence Agency Manuals, DoD Manuals, Air Force Manuals, Air Force Instructions, and local Operating Instructions. Skill in establishing, managing, and controlling all collateral and SCI classified information and material within the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) affecting the Unit's mission. Skill in ensuring SCIFs comply with all applicable construction and physical requirements, standards, and regulations as delineated by higher headquarters. Skill in planning and supervising work. Skill in appointing Local SCI courier officials that have a requirement to courier SCI on base and coordinates with the Defense Courier Service (DCS). Skill in tracing and administering SCI clearances for all in-processing personnel to ensure mission readiness. Skill in providing oversight of unit and SSO security self-inspections and presenting detailed and comprehensive reports with corrective action taken to the unit intelligence commander/SIO.
