    Job Summary

    Dialysis Technician performs tasks contributing to performance of maintenance dialysis for patients with end stage renal disease, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. All facility staff must meet the personnel qualifications and demonstrated competencies necessary to serve collectively the comprehensive complex needs of the dialysis patient. Identifies intradialytic comorbidities and monitors patient and equipment alarms during treatment.

    Education and/or Experience

  • High school or GED required.

  • Dialysis experience or healthcare experience required.

    Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Completion of an approved dialysis tech program; which will be provided by Avera if not previously completed.

  • Certification as Dialysis Technician must be obtained within 18 months of employment from one of the following is required:

  • Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) offered by the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC);

  • Board of Nephrology Examiners of Nursing and Technology (BONENT);

  • National Nephrology Certification Organization (NNCO)

  • Certification must be maintained during employment.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required for all patient care staff.

    Work Schedule

  • 48 hours per 2 weeks

    Pay

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $18.00 - $24.50 per hour
