Summary

We are looking for a Field Recruiter to join our Perdue Premium Meat Company team. The Field Recruiter is responsible for ensuring that staffing levels and needs are met and maintained for plant and field operations for the pork, beef, and lamb side of Perdue Foods’ business.

This is a full-time, salaried position with competitive pay. This is an onsite role sharing time between Sioux City and Sioux Center including some in-plant presence and requires travel to various company locations up to 25%, or more pending business needs.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identifies, develops, implements, evaluates, measures, and improves the recruiting process for hourly and salaried positions while maintaining required staffing as directed by Operations and/or Corporate.

  • Establishes an effective and efficient working relationship with business partners which creates an environment that facilitates the interviewing process, thus enabling the hiring of qualified applicants.

  • If applicable, provides training and direction to the hourly staff to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations concerning the interviewing process and AAP compliance.

  • Conducts on-boarding and orientations for all newly hired associates within the organization.

  • Creates new and innovative methods to improve the recruitment process and to continually improve the experience and skill set of applicants.

  • Achieves measurable results that demonstrate improvement in hiring ratio, i.e. applicants versus hires.

  • Ensures all required paperwork, e.g., application, reference checks, interview notes, and new hire paperwork are completed.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent related work experience. Previous experience in a staffing role within a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate must also have:

  • Advanced fluency to read, write, and converse in Spanish and English.

  • Two (2) years of progressive responsibilities in an HR role, at least one of those years in Talent Acquisition.

  • Experience working with and knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems.

  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Proven knowledge of laws surrounding the interview process.

  • Exposure to AAP requirements as it applies to the recruitment, interviewing, selection process.

  • Proven track record of innovative methods to recruit the targeted workforce and that results in turnover reduction.

  • An ability to think ahead and plan over a 1 to 3-year time span. Must be able to multi-task and organize multiple protocols and projects and complete on schedule.

  • Strong analytical skills, ability to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level. Must be able to communicate to all levels of the organization, provide excellent customer service, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of and a commitment to team performance and effective coaching. Requires to other facilities and plants for meetings and/or company business.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. When in a plant or field environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in manufacturing, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. May need to climb ladders.
