Summary

Perdue Premium Meats is seeking an Industrial Electrical Supervisor who will have oversight of junior techs and job tasks. The Supervisor provides technical guidance and direct support as the team installs, maintains, and repairs the new and existing buildings' electrical systems. This position is responsible for coordinating electrical activities with team members, vendors, and contractors engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, equipment & PM’s, to include the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utilities of the plant and new construction. The Electrical Supervisor is expected to perform their duties as well as frequently engage in teamwork and train junior techs on proper and thorough repairs essential to maximize operation uptime, enhance & provide a safe working environment, promote safe work practices.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspect and assess the work done by the electrical staff and assist when necessary.

  • Read and interpret design schematics to ensure the proper installation of electrical systems

  • Troubleshoot major system failures and equipment malfunctions, including maintenance of electrical equipment.

  • Ensure work is completed on schedule and to code.

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.

  • Consult with builders, maintenance manager and other associates on-site.

  • Ensure team members comply with all industry safety practices, best work & manufacturing practices.

  • Observe & listen to sounds of mechanical equipment or devices in operation to locate any signs of trouble, and to help identify thru root cause analysis, long term repair solutions.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or Journeyman’s license or similar career field experience preferred.

  • Alternative number of years worked in the field, on the job training for a qualified individual will be considered.

  • Electrician requirements in lieu of career experience will be considered.

Experience Requirements

  • Proven work experience & track record as an electrician.

  • Vast experience with multi voltage electrical systems up to 480V, experience with electrical systems operating controls, electrical drawings & blueprints.

  • In-depth knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems

  • Ability to communicate clear & concise project details.

  • Basic computer skills.

Experience Preferred

  • Strong trouble shooting skillset preferred, with the ability to work with minimal or no supervision.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • In stationary positions or moving for up to 8-12 hours on a wet, moist, dry and greasy floor which includes metal or plastic grating surfaces with up to four (4) hours in a single interval.

  • Ability to climb stairs, upon equipment, catwalks, and work from various ladders.

  • Exposure to and work in temperatures of <0 to >110 degrees Fahrenheit with ambient humidity, noise exposure of >110 db, and light intensity range of <50 to >100 foot candles.

  • Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distance, degrees, angle, weight, height, longest interval of time, objects grasped, and body positions depends upon the maintenance task being perform.

  • Must be able to lift and control weights up to 100 pounds.

  • Must be able to bend down and to maintain a kneeling position.

  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.

  • Exposure to chlorinated water <50ppm, ammonia vapors >5ppm, dry ice, caustic detergents, lubricating oils, hydraulic oils, salt, and other chemicals found in a poultry processing operation.

  • Must wear and/or use protective and safety equipment required for the job.

  • Vertical working heights from 0-60ft.
