Job Description

Responsibilities and Authorities:

Provide leadership, direction and guidance to the Distribution Operations and teams based out of the Asia Distribution Center (ADC), Raw Materials and Finished Goods Warehouses supporting Manufacturing Operations located in Singapore and Finished Goods Warehouse Operations in Kuala Lumpur to meet Global Supply Chain and Divisional / Business goals and objectives, develop world-class performance in te areas of customer responsiveness, inventory management, revenue growth, cost management and performance metrics. Build and nurture productive working relationships to achieve unparalled service delivery to customers. Mentor and coach to develop High- Performance Work Teams.

  • Lead all aspects of the overall Distribution operations including the Asia Distribution Center supporting multiple divisions & businesses to ensure accurate, timely, defect-free distribution of products to customers and inter-company sites located in Singapore, SEA, APJ, China and globally – by working in close collaboration with Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Customer Care, Commercial Operations, Order Fulfillment, Divisional Supply Chain, Finance, Transportation teams, Facilities and Global Supply Centers etc. to fulfill the Revenue commitments in a cost-effective and compliant manner and provide outstanding service to customers served.

  • Deliver Operational Excellence in customer satisfaction, inventory accuracy, turnaround velocity, on-time delivery, quality products, people development, risk management, cost controls etc.

  • Implement appropriate inventory control practices in the DCs w.r.t. safe-keeping, accuracy, safety, quality etc. Track damage, excess and obsolescence inventory. Drive cycle counting process including investigation, analysis and coordination of material write-offs and adjustments.

  • Develop Annual Operating Budget and directly control operating expenses to ensure that costs are within budgets / AOP.

  • Ensure ongoing conformance to all relevant Company guidelines, applicable rules, statues & regulations. Develop, review and suggest changes to policies, procedures and guidelines to meet the needs of the operations and Business

  • Develop, maintain and ensure systems, processes and SOPs (procedures, Work Instructions etc.) and operating practices that are compliance to the requirements of appropriate performance standards viz. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, FDA 21CFR Part 820, ISO 45001, Medical Devices Single Audit Program (MDSAP) etc.

  • Drive operational excellence and continual improvement to enhance service levels and reduce costs / waste.

  • Effectively partner with internal functions and external service providers to work in an integrated manner and in fulfillment of contractual obligations.

  • Leverage infrastructure and optimize internal / external 3PL capabilities to meet growth, service, cost and cash targets.

  • Coach, mentor and develop direct and indirect teams; effectively lead individual & team performance to meet / exceed committed goals & objectives; ensure compliance to Performance & Talent Management processes; drive employee accountability and engagement across sites.

Qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree in Science / Engineering / Business Studies or equivalent. Master’s Degree in Operations / Supply Chain Management / Logistics or APICS Certification is preferred.

Experiences:

10-15 years of expanding experience and responsibilities in the areas of Distribution / Logistics / Operations with proven track record to lead regional and multi-site teams in a fast-paced, complex, matrixed and high-growth business environment. Background in Life Sciences, Cold Chain Management etc. would be a distinct advantage.

Experienced in MNC Supply Chain, Distribution and/or Warehousing Logistic Management - 7 years.

Experiences in people / shopfloor management capacity - 5 years.

Familiar with SAP / E1 applications - 3 years.

Competencies Preferred

  1. Strong Supply Chain, Distribution and / or Warehousing Logistics management knowledge.

  2. Good knowledge of SAP functions in Distribution and Logistics modules.

  3. Strong Planning & organizing skills with ability to anticipate risks & build contingency plans.

  4. Demonstrate team leadership, motivation skills, problem-solving abilities and continuous improvement mentality.

  5. Ability to multi-task and prioritize important work requirements.

  9. Strong oral and written communicating skills & influencing ability.
