The Automotive group sector comprises technologies for passive safety, brake, chassis, motion and motion control systems. Innovative solutions for assisted and automated driving, display and operating technologies, as well as audio and camera solutions for the vehicle interior, are also part of the portfolio, as is intelligent information and communication technology for the mobility services of fleet operators and commercial vehicle manufacturers. Comprehensive activities relating to connectivity technologies, vehicle electronics and high-performance computers round off the range of products and services.

  • Mounting, electrical and data cabling and calibrating sensors on mobile robot test platforms.

  • Configure software drivers for the sensors.

  • Develop tooling to evaluate sensors used in mobile robots.

  • Evaluate industry standard safety PLCs, safety sensors and systems used for robots.

  • Update or upgrade the sensor driver functionality by optionally developing new driver functionality.

What you will be learning

  • How different sensors like 2D/3D Lasers, RGB cameras, Depth cameras, IMUs etc. work.

  • ROS2

  • Data transfer protocols for different sensors

  • Integration of sensors with the rest of the robot autonomy stack

  • Knowledge on Linux based operating systems (is of advantage)

  • Some programming knowledge preferably in Python, Bash or in C/C++.

  • Some experience working with sensors and electronics hardware systems.

  • Enthusiasm to work on unknown problems and find solutions.

  • Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.

  • Good communication skills
