Eaton Corporation Regional Electrical Proposal Engineer, PD East Asia in Singapore, Singapore

What you’ll do:

The primary function of the Proposal Engineer/Product Specialist is to be a skilled technical communicator who creates a well-written customer proposal based on a customer request for a quote and/or a specification using the Power Distribution Division (including MV Switchgear (up to 33 KV Both AIS and GIS), LV switchgear, Transformers, Busducts, ) quotation system and works with a dynamic, fast-paced team that interfaces with every aspect of the organization from front-end sales through manufacturing.

A. Review customer technical requirements and request for quotes (RFQ), identify those which can be offered using the standard pricing.

B. Preparation of professional quotations in a timely manner from specifications (formal and in-formal), single line diagram, and other documentation.

C. Perform detailed specification reviews to identify and address the following:

  • Customer requirements

  • Fit to Eaton’s Power distribution Division product scope

  • Features and accessories required for the pricing program

  • Areas for exception or clarification for the customer

  • Lead-times

  • Alternates for a more competitive offering

  • Special test, customer test/witness, or customer inspection requirements

  • Special documentation and reporting

D. Preparation of technically accurate quotations focused on MV&LV power distribution solutions in accordance with project specifications and schematic diagrams.

E. Submit completed tender proposals to meet customer deadlines

F. Ensure that formal risk analysis and mitigation is carried out on appropriate tenders and is submitted with approval requests.

G. Ensure all orders received against a tender are properly verified to be in line with the quotation and all information is present prior to handover to contracts.

H. Conduct tender follow-up and negotiations

Qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineering degree

  • 3 years related experience in MV Switchgear (up to 33 KV Both AIS and GIS), LV switchgear, Transformers, Busducts.

  • Knowledge of IEC standards, Electrical Power Distribution Products (Switchgear, Transformer, Busway, Control & Protection equipment Power Quality equipment)

  • Knowledge of typical applications, equipment, systems and IEC standards for electric power distribution."

  • Good communication and written skills

  • Detail oriented, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and work to deadlines with a high degree of accuracy

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), and the ability to utilize such tools to assess data and solve routine problems

  • Excellence personal skills as to be able to manage without authority

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese.

  • Initiative and positive.
