Job Description Summary

The Quality Engineer supports the manufacturing cell in aspects of quality assurance/ control and is responsible for the quality planning and conformance of Product/Process Quality to Customer and Engineering requirements. This role reports directly to the Quality Manager.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities :

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Facilitate and audit product/process qualification process for compliance and conformity

• Build-in-Quality PFMEA Champion for the cell

• Ensure integrity of measurement systems (MSA) for product verification

• Facilitate Management of Change (MOC) for the cell

• Independent reviewer for Cell's training competency

• Review product non-conformances for disposition and data collection for improvement activities

• Drive internal Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and effective Corrective and Preventive actions

• Conduct assigned process and product audits

• Facilitate Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) to meet quarterly savings target

• Drive initiatives to increase product/process yield and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) – Scrap, rework, warranty costs

• Support cell in implementation and adherence of Quality Management Systems QMS) requirements

• Raise quality awareness, conduct quality briefs, monitor and exercise StopWork for quality issues

Qualifications/Requirements :

• Engineering Degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering

• 3 years operational, quality and engineering experience in manufacturing industry preferred

• Strong communications, interpersonal and influencing skills

• Gas Turbine component repairs experience will be an added advantage

Desired Characteristics :

• Understanding of ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Systems

• Good analytical skills & experience in performing Root Cause Analysis

• Good report writing skills and experience in facilitating audits

• Practitioner of Lean/ 6 Sigma methodologies

• Good understanding with experience of built-in-quality in manufacturing
