Shell Production Team Leader in Singapore, Singapore

What’s the role?

As a Production Team Leader, you are responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of DPC and PC Development plant in Shell Jurong Island. You will manage a shift production comprising of a minimum 4 Team members and manage day to day operation, HSSE/Test plan/logistics planning/quality control/ ESP/process safety.

Specific responsibilities and activities include:

  • Function as Day Shift Team Leader, with expectation to provide absence coverage and work shift hours when required

  • Assisting Day-Production supervisor and Day-Production specialist on their instructions/guidelines, shift plan to manage and optimize plant operation.

  • Assist Commissioning and Start-up (CSU) Supervisor and provide support to the CSU leader in the following areas (before RFSU)

  • Develop start-up procedures, operating manuals, training of operational staff

  • Assist the PUM/Production supervisor/specialist / OMC in ensuring that the plant is operated soundly in compliance with the HSSE requirements of Local, International and Shell Standards at all time.

  • Lead and direct team of Process Technicians in operating the plant adhering to HSSE systems and standards and ensuring that the critical activities of the process technicians are completed, and HEMP barriers are effectively maintained.

  • Assist in case of any, Command operations and firefighting during emergency situations of the assigned PC Dev plant bringing the affected units to safe conditions as the first line of response.

  • Assist in planning of equipment for maintenance and be responsible for issuance of clearance for maintenance and work permit as Clearance Certificate Signatory where applicable.

  • Responsible for executing the ESP working principles ensuring quality in Shift Team’s performance in SHO, SOSO, SSS, Alarm Management, Intelatrac rounds, Operator Proactive Monitoring, etc.

What we need from you

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Diploma in Chemical Engineering / Chemical & Green Technology / Clean Energy

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in chemical processing or oil refining / utilities e.g. steam boilers and Cogeneration for Process Units; additionally a minimum of 2 years in a team leadership capacity

  • Experience in DPC/PC operation, polymer plant and extruder is an advantage

  • Team leadership, coaching and performance management abilities

  • Possess high level of motivation, enthusiasm, drive and creativity

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong Enterprise first mindset and a good team worker

  • Sound understanding of unit operation, safety and unit optimization
