Job Description

As the International Employee Relations Manager, you will be responsible for conducting workplace investigations and contributing to employee relations initiatives globally throughout AbbVie. You will work closely with our functional and geographic HR teams to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, while also maintaining the organization’s commitment to the AbbVie Business Code of Conduct and AbbVie Leadership Expectations. You will also be responsible for managing complex employee relations issues and investigations, providing guidance to HR and business leaders, and developing strategies to promote positive employee relations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and oversee complex workplace investigations related to employee complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or other workplace misconduct, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations in multiple countries, while also maintaining the company’s commitment to the AbbVie Business Code of Conduct.

  • Develop and implement investigation procedures and best practices that align with AbbVie's global HR policies and legal requirements, while navigating cultural and regional differences.

  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure investigations are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including data privacy and employment laws.

  • Assist in implementation and management of employee relations case management system to ensure streamlined complaint intake, effective ER case management, and accurate data reporting.

  • Provide guidance, support, and training to geographic and functional HR teams on employee relations issues, with emphasis on effective workplace investigations and making sound decisions based on investigation findings.

  • Follow developments about legal and regulatory developments related to workplace investigations in multiple countries and regions and provide guidance to HR and management on the impact of these changes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in a compliance, legal, HR, employee relations, or related field, preferably in a global or multi-national organization.

  • Experience and/or exposure to working with employment laws and regulations in multiple jurisdictions.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with firm a commitment to working with the highest ethical standards and emphasis on maintaining confidentiality.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle sensitive employee relations issues with discretion and empathy.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong ability to communicate in English required; ability to communicate in other Asia languages is desired.
