DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As an intern of the APEC finance team, the Intern will assist in providing project management support including event organizing for the annual regional finance and human resources conference, as well as adhoc analysis and presentations that enables APEC leadership to make business decisions that drive overall business results and create the most shareholder value. She/he will provide analytical, data gathering and any other required tasks to support to the Senior Director, Finance Operations – APEC.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support project management efforts involving APEC Finance projects.

  • Support event organizing for the annual regional finance and human resources conference.

  • Support the APEC finance team with data gathering, financial analyses, presentation preparing presentation, & follow up on various matters to ensure overall department due dates are met.

  • Support ad hoc requests involving operational analysis.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

You should be a high-potential intern who is passionate, committed and keen to establish a career in the hospitality industry with the following attributes:

  • Ideally, relevant work experience including project management and event organizing.

  • Data analysis, financial modeling, and presentation

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong spreadsheet skills, word processing, and presentation software skills

  • Familiarity with financial concepts in hospitality is a plus (RevPAR, Flow-Thru, Margins)

  • Ability to organize and interpret complex, detailed financial information and present analytical results in manner appropriate for senior management decision-making (both orally and in writing, in memos or presentation format)

  • Strong accounting skills, particularly in analyzing financial statements

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, and work both independently and as part of a team 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative work environment

  • Exceptional communication skills, creating an environment allowing timely information flows throughout the organization

QUALIFICATION STANDARD

Education:

Undergraduate in Business Management or Hospitality, preferably in their third year of undergrad studies

Requirements

Singaporean, Singapore Permanent Resident Holder or valid student pass

Prepared to commit to a six months’ internship

Eligible for undergraduate in a Singapore registered university program
