Shell Electrical Field Execution Engineer in Singapore, Singapore

What’s the role?

As an Electrical Field Execution Engineer, you will be based in Shell Jurong Island (SJI) under Maintenance Department with key accountabilities as the following:

  • Provides day-to-day hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting including contractor/ specialist management for all Electrical maintenance related matters, deliver with high safety standards, comply to authorities such as EMA ACT, Electricity ACT, local industrial and company HSE standards to ensure the equipment validity and availability.

  • Compliance to HSSE standards and requirements to make Shell Jurong Island (SJI) a safe place to work, and accountable for all assigned Critical activities.

  • Perform Authorized Applicant and/or Authorized Engineer as per SJI Permit to Work (e-PTW) requirement as well as be a Competent Electrical person and subsequently as Authorized Electrical Person in SJI.

  • Participate Field Acceptance Test/ Site Acceptance Test (FAT/SAT) and Functional testing to ensure electrical equipment’s are meeting the design intent when required.

  • Responsible for carrying out preventive as well as corrective maintenance works and ensuring plant equipment availability.

  • Participate in Asset Management System (AMS) & Maintenance Execution (ME) assessment and determine Electrical equipment maintenance task and schedule.

  • Prepares job specifications and costing for works involved and apply work clearance / permit for work execution.

  • Participate and execute for Turnaround/ pitstop events in related Process Units (PUs).

  • Perform electrical equipment condition monitoring whenever required & liaise with relevant subject matter experts/specialist/OEM to address any arising issues, problems & concerns.

  • Ensure SJI’s assets operate safely and reliably, without suffering any process safety incident or causing life-changing events to person(s), the staff is accountable to ensure compliance to those Critical Activities assigned for the Job Position.

  • Provide good documentation to ensure all equipment technical records and drawings are updated to reflect the latest changes. Maintains work requests and records on maintenance works using computerized maintenance management systems, GSAP-PM.

  • Carry out electrical QC checks including insulation resistance test, continuity test, loop check, motor winding resistance test.

  • Report timely to Maintenance Manager on the progress of work and issues encountered.

  • Attend Standby Duty callout to an Emergency work upon request.

What we need from you

We are keen to speak to professionals with the following:

  • Diploma/ Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

  • 1-5 years of relevant experience in Electrical construction/ Maintenance in oil & gas, chemical/ petrochemical or related industries.

  • Capable to perform electrical safeguarding checks and carry out electrical switchboard switching work and troubleshooting.

  • Work experience coupled with this technical knowledge/ professional certification will be desirable:

  • OPSOC (Supervisor) certification for petrochemical industry

  • Qualified MOM man-hole (Supervisor) and confined space entrant

  • Qualified License Electrical Worker

  • Familiar and experience with Brown field constructions include administration, HSSE and detail field technical work methods.

  • Experience in Plant Turnaround detail planning, preparation, and field execution.

  • Skill and knowledge in Electrical/ controls design.

  • Knowledge of Electrical equipment such as switch houses, sub-station, motors, and pumps.

  • Experience in field work interfacing and stakeholder’s engagement.

  • Preferably possess a valid Singapore class 3 Driving License.
