Responsibilities

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and continually improving company’s safety and health programs and procedures to ensure personnel and plant wide Health and Safety. This individual is required to monitor and conduct EHS audits to identify level of implementation & effectiveness of EHS management system, identify & recommend measures/approaches to close gaps/improve the management system. He/she will also be liaising with inter-departments and external organizations on EHS compliance issues.

  • Supports site's compliance with WSH Regulations.

  • Develop and enforce EHS programs, procedures, reports, permits and training as well as to cultivate & promote EHS Safety Culture within the organization

  • Manage and lead in the monitoring and controlling of safety standards in accordance with local regulations code of practice and RTX Corporate EHS requirement.

  • Manage Management Of Change (MOC) program for timely closure.

  • Monitor and track timely completion of activities, initiatives and action items in Corporate SMART Reporting System, while supporting PDPR Dashboard Reporting.

  • Drive effective Waste Management.

  • Manage and maintain the facilities to ensure compliant with local EHS regulations.

  • Develops environmental regulatory reports and submissions to achieve and maintain standard documentation.

  • Ensure organization meets all legal licensing requirements with regards to occupational health and safety.

  • Lead and conduct safety inspections

  • Develop and conduct inspection & audit program by identifying root causes of deficiencies and completion of preventive and corrective actions.

  • Establish & lead trend analysis, audits, accident investigations and site inspections of operational procedures, facility design, equipment and materials.

  • Evaluates new hazardous materials to ensure compliance to all safety rules and regulations pertaining to the work are conscientiously observed & in compliance.

  • Drive deployment of corporate programs independently.

  • Oversee Industrial Hygiene Screening for site personnel.

  • Leverage continuous improvement processes and tools (CORE) to improve EHS & Facilities performance

  • Drive & champion Behavior Based Safety System.

  • Conduct trainings to educate organization of best practices and regulatory/corporate requirements when necessary.

  • Assist in coordinating with IFM in facilities maintenance and building services.

  • Manage site security and access system, ensuring security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Safety, Health & Environmental Engineering.

  • Specialist Diploma in Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene is a plus.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the EHS profession. Fresh graduates will be considered for the role.

  • Experience in planning, development and implementation of EHS management systems and compliance

  • programs.

  • Lead and drive hazard identification and risk assessment methodology.

  • Good knowledge of local legislation (eg. WSH/NEA/SCDF), BIZSAFE, ISO 14001 & 45001 requirements.

  • Fire Safety Manager and/or WSHO is an added advantage.

  • Analytical, meticulous, resourceful and able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

  • A team player with good communication, interpersonal and organising skills.
