Position Summary
Within the Global Machine Pricing Organization, partners with technical teams and business partners to ensure the Caterpillar's machine pricing and merchandising systems are functioning as expected, well supported, and effectively enhanced based on user requirements.
What You Will Do
Execute customer support processes and activities for the implementation of new or existing applications.
Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshoot problems, as necessary.
Execute translating client's requirements to functional documentation, participate in technical designs and test plan with coaching and training.
Serve as Super User or System Administrator role to provide support for Caterpillar's Machine Pricing and Merchandising Systems; provide initial triage and coordinate response to customer support issues; administer user access requests; and ensure alignment of Caterpillar systems with compliance, policy, and audit requirements.
Assist in the technical resolution of reported issues with Pricing and Orders grief in GMP systems, including resolving grief on production orders and updating background tables in legacy applications
Participate in projects as a Subject Matter Expert by independently performing root cause analysis on incidents and make recommendations on improvements to system and process.
What You Have
Business Analysis : Knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify business needs; ability to recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
Core Application Systems : Knowledge of major production application systems used for machine pricing and merchandising; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.
• Helps create contingency plans to mitigate impact of disruption on core applications.
• Investigates application-related issues with both business and IT professionals.
• Works with core application systems for a major business unit or function.
Information Capture : Knowledge of the methods, channels and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner.
• Enhances the processes and procedures used in the organization's records retention program.
• Ensures that all exceptions and unusual circumstances are properly captured and reviewed.
• Helps others understand how the recording of information impacts other business units.
Analytical Thinking : Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
• Approaches a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determining its significance.
• Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions.
Relationship Management : Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
• Communicates to clients regarding expectations of all parties.
• Participates in negotiating the terms of the business relationship.
• Conducts periodic reviews of work effort, progress, issues, and successes.
IT Environment : Knowledge of an organization's IT purposes and activities; ability to create an effective IT environment for business operations.
• Researches planned platforms, strategies, initiatives, and key issues related to the IT environment.
• Implements existing technology infrastructure and systems management practices of one's own IT unit.
• Analyzes the purposes and responsibilities of one's own IT department.
System and Technology Integration : Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
• Assists with current and planned integration initiatives.
• Explores major issues and considerations for successful system integration.
• Works with applications, data, technology bridges and a variety of platforms.
