Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Simi Valley, California

Description

Robert Half is seeking an Accounting Clerk for a client in the construction industry. Some of the daily duties will be matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long-term contract / temporary to hire position. Do you enjoy being part of a team-oriented environment? This job opportunity offers room for growth and may be of interest to you.

Key responsibilities

  • Standard accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

  • Aid Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing

  • Categorize documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes

  • Put together statements and reports that require utilization of an assortment of sources

  • Rectify discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

  • Assist Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance

  • Transmit financial information to journals and ledgers

    Requirements

  • Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical

  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

  • Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data

  • Familiar with Spreadsheet and ERP system

  • Foundational knowledge in QuickBooks

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience
