Summary/General Description Of Job:

The Incumbent works under the general direction of the Business Manager. The Project Accountant will perform a variety of accounting duties in a timely and accurate manner. Accounts receivable/Accounts payable and oversite of payroll in accordance with State & Federal laws as well as Contract, CBA and Corporate requirements.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

· Create project accounts in Peoplesoft.

· Create/set-up job numbers in Peoplesoft for new projects and create analysis reports.

· Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders.

· Understand the billing requirements of the project.

· Work closely with Business Manager to ensure accurate client billing.

· Generates invoices and supports the billing submittal process to include preparation of backup documentation and submittal of invoices into WAWF.

· Monitor Accounts Receivable and assist in collection efforts.

· Account Reconciliation AP and AR.

· Review supplier invoices related to a project and suppliers.

· Ensure proper payments to all subcontractors and suppliers.

· Preparing payroll related documents and reports.

· Oversite of payroll system, to include reviews and audits.

· Knowledge of query type language and Microsoft Office projects.

· Duties require initiative, knowledge, flexibility, and judgment.

· Assist with other areas of accounting to ensure a timely month-end closing.

· Complete other related duties and assist with special projects as needed.

· Timely and accurate completion of all work.

· Maintaining assigned work schedule.

· Maintaining complete confidentiality of all finance related matters.

· Working harmoniously with customers and fellow co-workers.

· Adherence to all safety and environmental requirements.

· Adherence to contract requirements and company policies.

· Prioritization and completion of assigned projects in a timely and efficient manner.

· Compliance with Company Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel policies and procedures.

Here’s what you’ll need :

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations): Mandatory

· Bachelors degree in accounting practices or 5 years related experience.

· Three (3) years progressive experience or combination of relevant education and experience of Accounts Payable/Receivable experience in a high volume, fast paced job cost environment with an automated accounting system.

· Familiarity with Davis-Bacon, CBA, and Service Contract Act requirements.

· Skill in the use of MS Word and Excel at the intermediate or higher level.

· Good problem-solving skills.

· High degree of interpersonal skills with the ability to perform in a team environment.

· Proficient in using general office equipment to include printers, scanners and fax machines.

· Ten-key by touch.

· Valid state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.

· Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.

· U.S. Citizenship

Preferred

  • Experience in a Federal Government contracting environment.

· Experience with Maximo

The base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by market conditions, work location (e.g., state / city) and additional factors, including without limitation, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education, training, and certifications.
