Summary/General Description of Job:

The incumbent reports directly to the Support Services Manager serving as technical expert in estimating for work orders that exceed the limit of liability. Will work with a wide variety of supervisors, deliver accurate project estimates by reviewing and contributing to the interpretation of the description listed and identify risk areas. Duties will include gathering and analyzing data, forecasting costs, and presenting cost estimations to management. Our ideal candidate is someone who is proficient in cost analysis and has a keen eye for detail.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

· Collection of different types of data to compile and analyze costs.

· Conducting thorough risk analysis and prepare cost-benefit analysis reports.

· Preparing and presenting cost reports and pricing models to upper management.

· Develop and maintain cost databases and cost estimation models.

· Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.

· Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.

· Interact with clients, vendors, and management to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve cost issues.

Accountable For:

· Displaying discretion in protecting Jacobs propriety information and controlled unclassified information.

· Familiar with Government Contracting to include FARS/DFARS.

· Prioritization and completion of assigned projects in a timely, cost effective and efficient manner.

· Excellent communication skills in the English language in order to provide clear and concise instruction, both written and verbal.

· Excellent leadership, management, organizational, and supervision skills.

· Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations, conflict resolution

· Adherence to established Jacobs Technology, Inc. safety.

· Harmoniously working with other employees and customers.

· Skilled in the use of MS Word and Excel at the intermediate or higher level.

· Exercising independent judgement and handling of confidential information.

Here’s what you’ll need :

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations): Mandatory

· Two (2) years’ experience estimating for facilities maintenance.

· Proven work experience as a Cost Estimator or similar role

· Proficient in software like MS Office; familiarity with financial systems.

· Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail

· Strong math and research skills

· Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.

· Valid state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.

· Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required.

· Ability to travel 25% of the time within the area of responsibility (AOR) of the Prime Contract.

· Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET level Clearance.

· High School Diploma

· U.S. Citizenship

Preferred

· Preferred associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field.

· Professional certification in cost estimation or project management is a plus.

Jacobs is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Cost Estimator to join our team. This person will report directly to the Support Services Manager. The base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $80,000 . Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
