Description:

Manages the nutrition care of clinic patients as well of other patients who rely on artificial nutrition support (enteral and parenteral nutrition).

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for developing and implementing individualized nutrition care plans for patients with end stage renal disease.

  • Manages the nutritional assessment and care of patients with end stage renal disease.

  • Provides nutrition guidance and counseling to patients with end stage renal disease and candidates for transplantation, and their families.

  • Provides nutrition expertise to physicians and other health professionals.

  • Participates in activities that encompasses interdisciplinary care, Performance Improvement, promotion of health and/or or provision of nutrition education for the patients, family, staff and community.

  • Responsible for dosing of renal medications and medication reviews

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will need:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or verification statement from the American Dietetic Association confirming completion of DPD (Didactic Program in Dietetics) Requirements.

  • Licensed in the state of Maryland. (Includes 15 credit hours every year of continuing education).

  • Active registration status with Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. (Includes 75 credit hours every 5 years of continuing education).

  • Displays strong communication skills and ability to interact in a positive manner with physicians, patients, and families and other hospital staff.

  • Demonstrates the ability to handle confidential information and situations.

  • Experience in hospital clinical dietetics, preferred.
