General Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with the physicians and a multidisciplinary health team. The NP is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients. The Nurse Practitioner scope of responsibilities include therapeutic health service that focus on health restoration, health maintenance and disease prevention. Provides health education and counseling to individuals and families and supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.

Minimum licensure/certification required (if applicable):

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in State of MD or other compact state

  • Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in State of MD

  • Current DEA license

  • BLS

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  1. Current active licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland

  2. Completion of a nurse practitioner approved by the Maryland State Board of Nursing.

  3. Successful completion of nation certifying examination acceptable to the Maryland State Board of Nursing.

  4. Verification of current national certification.

  5. CPR certified (ACLS as per specific department requirements).

  6. Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a professional nursing role, a minimum of 2 years experience in specialty area.

  7. Maintain basic cardiac life support certification. Able to use computers.

  8. Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends English.

  9. Physical requirements for this position includes lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling, stooping, kneeling or crawling, motor coordination, communication skills, visual acuity.
