Responsibilities:

  • Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and if necessary, delegating patient care to a specified group of patients.

  • Provides care for the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patient (as defined in the unit scope of care).

  • Involves appropriate parties (i.e. patient’s family or guardian, outside agencies) in the assessment, treatment and continuing care of the patient as needed.

  • Utilizes knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient’s age to ensure that care provided meets the unique, physical and psychosocial needs of the patient.

What you will need:

Required:

  • Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.

  • BLS certification (American Heart Association); additional Life Support training as applicable to unit requirements.

  • ACLS Certified within probationary period

  • required to lift a minimum of 35 pounds as determined by the nature of the nursing unit

Preferred:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (BSN or MSN) preferred.

  • 2 years of experience in a supervisory position as a registered nurse

  • 2 years Critical Care experience
