Who we’re looking for:

Wolfspeed’s Materials Business is seeking a Senior Process Engineering Supervisor. The person in this role will be managing the Process Technicians reporting in to the organization on the Front End rotation. The person in this role will provide coverage for both Day shift and Night shift and will work a 12p-12a schedule and should expect to work Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and every other Wednesday. The person in this role will receive an 8% shift differential as incentive for the shift assignment they will be expected to cover.

This posting is for a position that will directly support operations at the John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide, our expansion site in Siler City, NC. The person in this role will train at our Durham, NC headquarters initially and will move over to the new site once ready.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Build, coach, and lead a diverse team of process engineers and technicians

  • Sustain and improve critical wafer manufacturing processes for Power products

  • Organize and manage projects that positively impact costs and product yields while maintaining both near and long-term roadmaps

  • Participate in strategic planning, including tool selection

  • Partner with the Operations, Equipment, Integration, Yield, and R&D engineering teams to ensure effective new product and process introductions as well as consistent device performance and quality

  • Interface with equipment engineering, management, and manufacturing to improve cycle time, tool availability, process/product yield, and drive cost reductions

  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
     

This Job is Right for You if You Have:

  • BS in electrical, chemical, or material science engineering

  • At least five years of process engineering experience, preferably within semiconductor manufacturing

  • Previous management experience

  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to identify manufacturing improvements, manage change, and implement solutions

  • Working knowledge of applied statistics (SPC/DOE) and structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 whys, and DMAIC

  • Experience managing large sets of data

  • Excellent MS Office skills

  • High energy, self-motivated attitude with strong communication skills and ability to interface effectively with coworkers of different backgrounds at every level of the company
