Here’s the Gist:

As a member of the Training Group, the Operations Training Specialist Supervisor will oversee operational training for Materials and Epi. This posting is for a position that will directly support operations at the John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide, our expansion site in Siler City, NC.  The person in this role will train at our Durham, NC headquarters initially and will move over to the new site once ready.

This will normally be a M-F Day shift position, but flexibility to cover other shifts is required.

The Day-to-Day

  • Develop course and instructional materials related to training programs.  May include visual aids, new hire handouts, training exercises, and reference materials.
  • Administer and conduct departmental new-hire orientation.
  • Provide for and document the certification of operational staff.
  • Work with supervisors to determine additional training needs for operational staff.
  • Conduct product and process audits as a measure of training success.
  • Communicate with line leads and other Training Specialists/Coordinators regarding any training related issues.
  • Consult with engineering and document control regarding updates to work instructions.
  • Consult with engineering on process continuous improvement projects as needed.

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):

  • 5+ years of experience in High Volume Manufacturing as an Operator, Technician, or Training Coordinator.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Power Point. 
  • Proven organizational and technical skills.
  • Excellent presentation, time management, verbal, and written communication skills.  
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for 8 or more hours of the work day.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Must be flexible with hours to ensure overlap with key training resources across all 4 manufacturing shifts.
