Here’s the Gist:  

Wolfspeed is seeking a Facilities Operations Supervisor for our new location in Siler City, NC – the world’s largest silicon carbide materials factory. Facilities Operations is responsible for maintaining stable operation of numerous semiconductor facility systems in support of Wolfspeed's wafer manufacturing operation. In your role as the Operations Supervisor, you will oversee and provide direct management to a team of direct reports operating the central utility plant. Facilities systems are designed to provide uninterrupted services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You also will promote a safety and quality mindset to your teams through continuous improvement of processes, policies, procedures. and reliability programs to ensure uninterrupted facility operations. 

 

The Day-to-Day  

  • Solely accountable for shift performance and operation of facility systems within specification. 

  • Lead shifts pass down and daily operations meetings to ensure continuity in operation. 

  • Ensures timely action in response to out of control or out of specification conditions that have safety, regulatory, or production impact implications. 

  • Serves as main point of contact on assigned shift for interacting with manufacturing and internal. stakeholders as needed during service interruptions and out of spec events. 

  • Inspects buildings’ physical plant daily to guarantee high quality standards are met. 

  • Communicates regularly with maintenance teams on work occurring with the plant. 

  • Maintains existing procedures related to assigned areas of responsibility. 

  • Conducts performance appraisals with team members to create goals and development plans. 

  • Promotes collaboration by assisting with workload providing technical leadership for operating facility systems. 

  • Collaborates with site engineers to implement system improvements. 

  • Promotes a safe and positive work environment by having a safety focus in all activities. 

  • Reviews and approves Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for non-routine tasks and PTPs (Pre-Task Plan) as required. 

  • Contributes to off-shift coverage when needed to maintain adequate staffing. 

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements): 

  • 5 years experience in industrial operations and maintenance (e.g., pumps hydraulics, piping), mechanical systems, electrical systems, Ultra-Pure Water, wastewater system operations, plant operator or field equipment technician, automations & controls. 

  • 3 years of leadership experience or proven ability to develop and coach team members. 

  • Certification, License, Military experience, or Associates/Bachelors degree in a facilities related field. 

  • Understanding and manipulation of SCADA and other HMI systems. 

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. 

 

This role may require additional duties and/or assignments (including potential shift work in the future) as designated by management.
