Robert Half Temp Only Payroll Clerk in Signal Hill, California

Description We are offering an employment opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in Signal Hill, California. This role is vital in the administration of payroll for our team, and will be a key point of contact for payroll inquiries. You will be working in a fast-paced setting where accuracy and efficiency are paramount. This is a short-term contract position with a focus on managing the payroll system, PAYLOCITY.

Responsibilities:

• Administer bi-weekly payroll for approximately 60 employees using PAYLOCITY

• Maintain and manage Quickbooks Online for financial recording and reporting

• Prepare and post journal entries in Quickbooks Online as required

• Process online reimbursements and manage the payroll email inbox

• Respond to and resolve payroll queries from employees in a timely manner

• Ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently

• Gathering information on hours worked for each employee

• Calculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc.

• Check data input in the payroll system for accuracy

• Resolving discrepancies pertaining to payroll records

• Validate timesheets

Skills:

• Proficiency in PAYLOCITY and Quickbooks Online

• Ability to prepare and post journal entries

• Familiarity with payroll processes and regulations

• Excellent communication skills for answering employee inquiries

• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy of payroll data. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Payroll Clerk

• Proficiency in Paylocity and Quickbooks Online

• Strong knowledge of journal entries, including posting journal entries

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel

• Strong mathematical and numerical skills

• Prior experience in a similar role is desirable.
