Then join the Department of Conservation and Natural Resource's Clear Creek Forest District as an Assistant District Manager! The Assistant District Manager will primarily oversee district State Forest Operations & Maintenance and district Forest Fire Protection programs.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The role involves performing professional forestry and managerial tasks, which include aiding in overseeing the operations of the Clear Creek Forest District under the Bureau of Forestry. In this position, you will support the Forest District Manager by assisting in the planning, scheduling, development, implementation, direction, coordination, and evaluation of forest program activities within the Clear Creek Forest District. You will be responsible for identifying fiscal, personnel, equipment, supplies, and other requirements necessary to achieve program goals, objectives, and priorities. Regular assessments of the programs assigned will be conducted to gauge their efficiency, effectiveness, and the extent to which established goals, objectives, and priorities have been met. The successful completion of tasks will be achieved through the oversight of professional foresters, forest technicians, maintenance staff, and interns. This will involve delegating responsibilities, providing guidance, motivation, mentorship, recognition, and counseling to subordinates in order to ensure that program goals are met. Additionally, you will be responsible for directing, supervising, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, planning, scheduling, and developing district State Forest Operations & Maintenance and Forest Fire Protection program activities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time (Ad hoc) according to District policy. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Sigel. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as a Forester; or Two years of experience as a Forest Nursery Assistant Manager; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which affords the applicant the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Special Requirement: Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license, of the proper class for the vehicles operated, as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
