Job Description JOB DETAILS Base Pay $21.50 per hour, plus $0.75per hour shift differential 3rd Shift Sunday through Thursday 10PM to 6AM Employment Benefits start on day 1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Distribution/ Warehouse Forklift Associates are responsible for pulling and staging orders on the shipping floor. These orders will be loaded onto a truck trailer with elongated skids by means of a forklift. Associates must be flexible to ever-changing priorities to accommodate customer demands and are expected to work in a safe, productive and cooperative manner in accordance with Ply Gem policies and procedures. Complete all tasks as assigned by Distribution department leadership Read, understand, and follow the steps outlined in SOPs for each task being performed Take prompt corrective action to eliminate safety hazards and minimize downtime Complete required documentation in a complete, legible, and accurate manner Perform any daily PM or check sheets as needed on motorized equipment as outlined in procedures/policies Change batteries and/or gas tanks on motorized equipment Report maintenance needs to appropriate personnel Keep equipment clean and free of debris Organize and maintain all work areas in a neat and orderly fashion. Encourage accountability with peers and others to ensure quality of performance which will support inventory accuracy and eliminate shipping variances Properly manage all wastes generated, including segregation of recyclable materials, and segregation of hazardous wastes by type Take steps to minimize the amount of waste generated Facilitate transfer of production/ordering signals through use of Kanban, delay cards, and delay summary reports Qualifications Experienced as a qualified forklift operator Required Prior experience in preparing shipping labels and maintaining documents Proven work history in demonstrating a systematic approach in carrying out work assignments Must be able to read, write and be able to perform basic math skills as job duties require Must have good eye/hand coordination, excellent manual dexterity including a skill to use hand and electrical tools, and an ability to read and comprehend numbers Ability to lift up to 100pounds continuously above shoulder height and below waist height Must be detailed oriented, possess good communication skills, and interact well with others Must be able to separate product by profiling color Work in warehouse environment with exposure to equipment noise, temperature extremes, and dust Position requires continual lifting, twisting, and bending Must be proficient in the use of a claw hammer, pneumatic nail gun, pneumatic bander, and an electric skill saw.
