Copeland Financial Analyst/Sr. Financial Analyst in Sidney, Ohio

Based at our Sidney, OH location, you will support the accurate and timely preparation and reporting of financial information to leadership teams. You will be key in completing reconciliations, balance sheet accruals, analysis of general ledger accounts, monthly consolidation entries and needed consolidated financial reports. You will interact regularly with departments including Tax, Payroll, Accounts Payable and Receivable to resolve various issues and pursue opportunities related to the business. Further, you will interact across multiple functions within the business to complete this compilation and analysis for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements. You will identify and resolve issues and implement process improvements to facilitate the monthly close process. You may participate in department and company-wide projects by developing and implementing solutions, through coordination with finance and/or IT and business contacts.

AS A FINANCIAL ANALYST/SENIOR YOU WILL:

  • Support accurate and timely preparation of consolidated financial information for reporting to Management.

  • Utilize Oracle general ledger software to perform job duties.

  • Assist with Consolidations and Hyperion Financial Management loading and analysis.

  • Create and enter manual journal entries and prepare reconciliations for month end close and maintain supporting workpapers and analyses.

  • Perform account analysis of various general ledger accounts. Identify and resolve issues and implement process improvements.

  • Support field work of internal and external auditors.

  • Participate in department and/or cross-functional projects and provide other ad-hoc analysis as needed.

  • Engage with technical teams and other resources working on Oracle and process improvement initiatives to identify and implement process improvement opportunities.

As a financial analyst in the General Accounting Department, you would play a key role in ensuring accuracy and timeliness in completing consolidated monthly financial statements and required reporting. The department is expected to meet strict closing and reporting deadlines, so the ideal candidate would be able to manage stress in a positive way and make quick decisions on how to prioritize deadlines. You can balance your own deadlines as well as manage questions from all various legal entities that may also contact you for assistance. The ideal candidate also needs to be able to bounce back from setbacks and use them as an opportunity for growth.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • Two (2) or more years prior related work experience

  • The candidate should possess strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and cost accounting theories and practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of linked spreadsheets, data downloads, complex formulas, and pivot tables.

  • Must have the ability to meet strict deadlines and balance multiple priorities.

  • Must have strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Must be able to work productively in a team and independently.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • 4 or more years prior related work experience

  • Prior experience with Oracle financial applications is desired.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Power Point) including advanced functions preferred.

  • Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management software is a plus.

  • Familiarity with data analytics tools (Domo, Power BI, Power Query) is a plus.

  • Advanced Excel Skills is a plus.
