The Position: Coding Specialist II

Employment Status: Full time and on site. No remote positions available.

Hours per two-week pay period: Up to 80 hours.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coding Clinical Encounters, Hospital Professional Fees, Coding Medical, Surgical, Obstetrics, Newborn charts

  • Claim review for CCI edits, MUE edits and/or denials.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding rules.

  • Understanding DRG and APC reimbursement principles

  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

  • One year of coding experience preferred.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC or CCA required or certification eligible with certification mandatory within the first 12 months.

Position Summary:

Sidney Health Center is seeking a Coding Specialist II to join our I CARE team in the Health Information setting. Essential duties of the position include coding for hospital and clinic settings as well as hospital professional fees, reviewing claims for CCI/MUE edits and reviewing coding claim denials.
