VMware Senior Systems Engineer - Opportunity for Working Remotely in Shui On Plaza, China

Title: Senior System s Engineer

Reports to: SE Manager, East China

Based in: Hefei

A typical day in this role:

  • Present VMware vision, strategy and product roadmaps to executives and technical management

  • Work with sales team to develop and implement account strategies and drive the adoption of VMware solutions within enterprise accounts

  • Qualifies sales opportunities in the terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision-making process and funding

  • Use knowledge of competitive solutions to help the sales and field engineering teams propose the most optimal solution for the customer

  • Present and market the design and value of proposed VMware solution and business case to customers and prospects

  • Builds relationships with the account team, partners, and customers in support of sales team objectives

  • Configure and document software, hardware and service solutions to meet customer and sales objectives. Participate in RFx and drive POCs

  • Work collaboratively with Product Management team to deliver specific value and characteristic of the products

  • Travel within your assigned territory is required

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Analytical ability, problem-solving skills, and teamwork thinking

  • 6+ years of experiences in customer facing technical roles, such as Sales Engineer, Consulting Engineer, or Solution Architect

  • Knowledge and experience with Virtualization, Cloud, K8S

  • Knowledge and experience with building and deploying enterprise or cloud scale applications

  • Solid experience in real customer projects and production systems (like enterprise cloud, PaaS, CICD, etc.)

Desired Skills / Experience

  • Experience in cloud infrastructure, like OS, network, storage, database, disaster recovery, backup/restore, etc.

  • Experience with Docker and K8S

  • Experience with a PaaS solution

  • Understanding of DevOps

  • Familiar with CI/CD pipelines workflow

  • Experience with Chef, Puppet, BOSH, Terraform, Saltstack, Ansible or related automation/orchestration/management tools
