Prepare patients for examinations, including taking vitals.
Recording & updating patient medical histories in electronic medical records software
Performing routine tests and/or screenings such as mammograms, colorectal screening, and EKGs
Preparing and administering medications, including intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections-including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider.
Counseling patients on medication and special diets
Wound care and changing dressings.
Sterilizing and cleaning equipment and ensuring maintenance of examination rooms.
Collaborates closely with physicians and nurses to ensure top level patient care.
1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back-office' direct patient care
Active Medical Assistant Certificate as a Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or as a Registered Medical Assistant/RMA or Medical Assistant Experience willing to obtain certification within 1yr of employment.
Willingness to learn and be cross trained in other roles based on business needs.
Experience with MS Outlook
Willing to travel to nearby clinics to help when needed.
Previous experience in a geriatric setting
1-2 years' experience with EMR and ECW
Previous experience with medical "front office" responsibilities
Phelbotomy experience in a geriatric setting
An active RMA or CMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAMA, NHA, ARMA, NAHP, AMT, NAHT, NCCT, or AAH (Please note if you are currently certified, some CMA and RMA programs may still require completion of Humana approved certification program within one year from hire date)
This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana/Senior Bridge's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.
Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters.
